Safety on Orblly

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Orblly is built around real human connection. That means we take safety seriously — both online and at in-person events.

Reviews vs Reports: What's the difference?

Reviews are public feedback left after attending an event or class. They help future attendees make informed decisions and help hosts improve. Reviews are visible on event pages.

Reports are private signals sent to our moderation team when something is wrong — a person who is harassing others, an event listing that is misleading or harmful, or content that violates our community rules. Reports are never visible to other members and go directly to our team for review.

Use Reviews to share your genuine experience. Use Reports when you believe a rule has been broken.

How to Report Something

Reporting a person: Visit their profile → tap the flag icon → describe the issue. Our team reviews all person reports and may issue warnings, suspend, or permanently ban accounts.

Reporting an event: Open the event page → tap "Report event" → describe the issue. We may remove listings that are misleading, dangerous, or in violation of our Terms.

Reporting a discussion post or reply: Tap the flag icon next to the post → describe the issue. We may lock or remove discussions that violate community rules.

Reporting a service or venue listing: Open the listing → tap the flag icon → describe the issue.

Blocking

If someone is making you uncomfortable, you can block them at any time:

  • Visit their profile → tap "Block"
  • Blocking is mutual: you will disappear from each other's discovery, connections, and chat
  • Blocking removes any existing connection and chat history between you
  • The person you block is never notified that they have been blocked
  • You can manage your blocked list in Settings → Blocked accounts

At In-Person Events

  • Always meet in public places for first-time connections
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave
  • If you experience harassment at an Orblly event, report the person through the app and, if necessary, contact local authorities

Orblly is not present at member-organised events and cannot guarantee your safety in person. We strongly encourage members to exercise the same caution they would in any social situation with someone they have recently met online.

Identity Verification

The blue verified badge (✓) means a member has submitted a government-issued ID that our team has reviewed and approved. It is a signal of authenticity, not a guarantee of behaviour. Verified members are held to the same community standards as all members.

Our Moderation Approach

  • Reports are reviewed by our team, typically within 48 hours
  • We may issue warnings, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban accounts
  • We may remove content that violates our Terms without prior notice
  • Decisions are made at our discretion; we cannot share details of actions taken against other accounts
